Sicilian Orange

Orange is the most cultivated citrus in the world, thanks to its ability to adapt to different environmental conditions.

In particular, in Sicily, during the Arab domination (IX-XI century AD) bitter oranges and lemons were planted in the so-called gardens, name still used, evocative of the ornamental function that citrus groves initially had on the island.

In particular, the plain of Catania is rich in citrus groves, and the oranges are extraordinarily rich of vitamins, a result of the particular microclimatic conditions of the area around Etna.

The high content of vitamin C in oranges makes them powerful antioxidants, able to fight free radicals responsible for skin aging; it also has lightening properties; helps fight the signs of aging, including sagging wrinkled skin.
